OWRB Water Use Permits Six Oklahoma Facilities

A natural gas transmission and processing company required the commercial use of groundwater at six of their field offices in Oklahoma. The commercial use of groundwater requires approval from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB). Blackshare Environmental accumulated all of the necessary data and prepared detailed permit applications. After the applications were submitted and approved by the OWRB, Blackshare Environmental performed title research of surrounding properties and sent notices of the permit application to all adjoining landowners.

Title V Air Permit Application Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Well Southern Oklahoma

Title V Air Permit Application Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Well Southern Oklahoma

Blackshare Environmental's client drilled a successful natural gas well that also produced hydrogen sulfide gas. Because of the high toxicity hazards from hydrogen sulfide gas, it was necessary to treat the gas stream with an amine unit. The amine unit is designed to remove hydrogen sulfide and convert it to hydrogen dioxide by running the stream through a high temperature flare. The resulting hydrogen dioxide emissions were calculated to be over 100 tons/year, which necessitated the preparation of a Title V air permit.
