Services that are not in the mainstream of environmental compliance and assessment can be some of the most important - whether dealing with a spill, the public regarding a controversial issue, or the opposing party in a lawsuit. Providing the correct response in any of these situations can make life a lot easier in the future - and we have extensive experience in all of these areas.

 

Blackshare Environmental offers many services that do not fall into traditional categories of environmental engineering and consulting services. We have the necessary equipment, pager call-out procedure, and arrangements with contractors where necessary. Some examples of such services are as follows:

Emergency / Spill Response

Blackshare Environmental has extensive experience with a wide range of emergency responses. We are on-call 24/7/365 for select clients and has provided emergency response services for:

  • hydrocarbon releases from USTs, airplanes and fuel transfer stations
  • industrial spills of toxic/hazardous substances
  • hazardous materials releases from natural disasters and/or industrial accidents
  • crude oil spills on soil and surface water
  • gasoline and chloroform in sanitary sewer systems
  • mercury releases into soil from pipeline metering stations

We perform sampling of all types of media for many purposes. Some examples include:

Public Involvement

Knowing how to prepare for and handle the public and/or media in a public meeting or hearing setting can generate support and/or diffuse potentially controversial issues. We have extensive experience leading public meetings and hearings for a variety of purposes such as meetings to permit construction of controversial facilities, to announce new development plans, to introduce planned actions that affect the public, and many others. We have all resources required to prepare for and produce exhibits and written informational literature to provide to the public. But most importantly, what to say and how to say it to the sponsor's best advantage.

Expert Witness

The testimony given by an expert witness can be the difference between winning or losing a lawsuit. Blackshare Environmental employs many subject matter experts covering a variety of topics. Our professionals provide expert witness/testimony for oil and gas cases, contamination incidents, calculation confirmation for emissions, regulatory agency enforcement actions, and in many other instances.
